I was looking forward to shooting Mark and Katherine’s wedding this September at the Avanti Mansion in Buffalo because they seem like such a nice couple. Well, all that changed after Saturday when we got together for their engagement shoot. Now I am REALLY looking forward to it. These two are so much fun! We spent almost six hours together on a rainy day in Rochester and none of us could figure out where the time went. Katherine commented about how nice it was to work with someone that obviously loves what they do for a living. We met at The Dinosaur Bar B Q and decided to drive around to see what we could find. We ended up at the Strong National Museum of Play, and we played. It was so much fun, these two are such a pleasure to be around and were open to just about anything. We ended up back at the Dinosaur where Mark and Katherine treated me to some finger-lickin good ribs and catfish strips (yum).
The men’s bathroom has awesome red and white walls filled with graffiti. Any one that follows my blog knows about my fixation for shooting in bathrooms. They are usually small, with light colored walls, and have tons of mirrors. In other words they are a little paradise for light and mirror junkies who like to bounce their flash around. Well I mentioned it to Katherine and she was all for it. We put some guy on guard at the door but he didn’t stop anyone from coming in, and of course everyone had to go when they saw a woman walk in and the flash going off. We finally walked out after the place filled up, and jokingly fired the guard.
Thanks for the good times, and great food Mark and Katherine. Hope you and your families like the images, and I look forward to getting together again at the wedding.

Frank,
They are fabulous shots, I can only imagine what the wedding pictures will be like. I look forward to meeting you and being a part in Katherine & Mark's wedding.

Wow! I am Katherine's cousin and obviously you all had fun. I can't wait to see the wedding photos. I am sure they will reflect the fun spirit these two have. My favorite is the bw one where Kat is laughing and leaning on Mark.

These are great - both the pictures and the subjects. The lively and colorful backgrounds with amazing lighting really frame the photogenic engagees and add to the sense of the fun all three of you were having.

Frank,
I'm the mother of the groom. The pictures are great. Of course you knew THAT! However, one does like to hear it. (It also doesn't hurt to have 2 extremely photogenic people who are madly in love with each other.)
I like the black & white one at the bottom of the stairs & and one immediately before that where they are hugging in the purple corner. Now here's how great that is... I am NOT a "purple" person - it's probably my least favorite color.
Now, at the wedding, make me look 10 - 20 yrs. younger, & 20 lbs lighter. I'll be your biggest promoter... should you ever get to this part of the country. ROTFL
See you at the wedding.

Frank,
I just happen to be the father of the groom. You have done a fantastic job with capturing this loving couple and I, too, am looking forward to the wedding pictures. I don't know what I like best, the color or the B&W, but I do love the one at the bottom of the stairs and the last one of them on the picnic table.

Hey Frank -
I'm Mark's sister... love the photographs! You captured them wonderfully, even if they are the most affectionate people I have ever met in my life.
You are very talented and I can't wait to see the wedding pictures when it's all said and done. I'm looking forward to meeting you in September.

I'm absolutely thrilled with these pictures!

Hey Frank,
These are fantastic again. I love the one at the bottom of the stairs and the one focusing on Katherine's eyes. They're breathtaking.
Hope all is well!

Hey Frank,
Just dropped by to see how you've been, and couldn't help but comment on this set of shots.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the colour, and your incredible vision for seeing the light to shoot with. You are the lighting master my friend, and I can't wait to come shoot with you.
Have a fabulous week.
